The Gateway at Galena
Work is underway on The Gateway at Galena, a 361-unit apartment community located off Wedge Parkway in southwest Reno’s Galena Foothills on the prestigious Redfield Estate.
Pacific West and its development division, Artek Communities, is serving as a development partner and general contractor.
The Gateway, which is just minutes from Lake Tahoe, will feature three distinct neighborhoods and offer spectacular views of the Truckee Meadows. When completed, the community will include two community centers, two resort-style pools, outdoor cook centers, dog park, tot lot, and walking paths.
The community will be the first to feature the ultraFlex product, which was designed entirely in-house by the architects and engineers from the 1085 Group, a division of Pacific West. The innovative design offers features competitive with single-family, detached homes.
The ultraFlex offers enhanced privacy, a flexible living environment with dual master suites, and a “flex” space that can be used as a home office, guest room, game room, at-home learning center, whatever suits the renter’s needs. Some plans include side-by-side garages with hybrid charging stations.
The Gateway will also feature the Flex Building product, another exclusive from the 1085 group. The FlexBuilding features open layouts, private entries, full or half garages with direct access, raised ceilings, abundant storage, oversized windows, and balconies or patios. “Extra” space is ideal for a home office, guest room, dining area, workout space, or storage.
Along with serving as the general contractor and development partner for the community, Pacific West will also provide construction management for the 12.9 acre Summit Tennis and Health Center.
The Summit Center, which will be located within the same planned community as The Gateway, is expected to include: an indoor and outdoor tennis center for competition and recreation, Olympic-sized indoor pool, indoor basketball courts, cardio floor, cycling studio, steam room, massage therapy center, and restaurant.
Other commercial offerings include office space, a small-scale hotel, and a mini-storage center.
